Accessibility.
As a web development agency, OuterEdge UK Ltd employs only web professionals with the required experience of web standards, accessibility and usability. We ensure that all of our websites are built with these standards, can be read by everyone and are compatible with a variety of devices including screen readers. Below are some important areas that we consider.
If you have any queries or feedback please contact us via hello [at] outeredgeuk [dot] com.
Standards compliance
We aim to ensure the entire contents of this site validates as XHTML 1.1 Strict. The W3C validation program determines whether a page is valid XHTML with 100% accuracy. However it's possible that there are some elements we've purposely used that may make certain pages fail, we use common sense wherever possible.
Browsers
OuterEdge passionately supports web standards and future-proof web design and layout. We believe that 100% of the information on our websites should be accessible regardless of the browser used. This website been built using current web standards and uses the concept of progressive enhancement to ensure a good experience for all visitors.
This website uses layout techniques that have been made available thanks to CSS3. Browsers that support CSS3 include Firefox v2 and later, Google Chrome, Safari, Opera v9 and later and Internet Explorer 8. If you are using an older browser, your visual experience may be reduced where necessary.
We strongly recommend that if you are using Internet Explorer version 5.5 or 6 that you upgrade to the latest version of Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari, all available freely for Windows and Mac.
Links
- Links should make sense out of context, for example 'click here' shouldn't be used as a link.
- Links to external websites will open in the same window for accessibility reasons.
Images
- All content images used in this site include descriptive ALT text tag.
- Background and decorative images are created using stylesheets, and therefore do not require ALT text.
- Pages are designed and laid out so that they are still readable with stylesheets and javascript disabled.
