Set SMART Goals for your business

Tell Us Your Goals Portal Screenshot

At outer/edge we want to partner with our customers to help them achieve their targets. We encourage all of our customers to set SMART goals on which we can help work with you to achieve. For every goal that you set, we pledge to spend time thinking of ways and tasks needed to help you smash through your targets. Our Portal has a Goals section where you can upload, edit and see your progress towards each goal. Any tasks that align to your current goal will show a “Trophy” icon on your taskboard as you can see below:

Why?

Setting goals is essential for any business, but it's especially important for e-commerce businesses. With so much competition online, it's crucial to have clear goals in order to stay ahead of the curve. As an agency we want to ensure we are working on tasks that add business value, using your time as effectively as possible. At outer/edge our goal is to grow with you, so we have a passion to help you achieve yours.

What?

The SMART acronym stands for:

Specific

Measurable

Achievable

Relevant

Time-bound

When you set SMART goals, you're more likely to achieve them because they're well-defined and attainable.

When?

Now please 🙂

How?

Here are some tips for setting SMART goals for your e-commerce business:

  • Be specific. Don't just say you want to "increase sales." Instead, say something like "Increase sales of a specific product by 10% in the next quarter."
  • Make it measurable. How will you know if you've achieved your goal? Set specific metrics that you can track, such as the number of sales, the average order value, or the number of returning customers.
  • Make it achievable. Don't set yourself up for failure by setting unrealistic goals. Start with small, achievable goals and then gradually increase them as you reach your milestones.
  • Make it relevant. Your goals should be relevant to your business's overall objectives. Don't set goals that are not aligned with your business's mission and vision.
  • Set a deadline. Give yourself a specific timeframe for achieving your goal. This will help you stay motivated and on track.

Here are some examples:-

  • Increase sales of your highest-margin product range by 10% in the next quarter.
  • Increase the average order value by ÂŁ5 in the next month.
  • Reduce the bounce rate on my website by 20% in the next six months.
  • Get 100 new email subscribers in the next week.
  • Launch a new product line in the next three months.

Setting SMART goals is an essential part of any e-commerce business plan. By following these tips, you can set yourself up for success and achieve your business goals. Remember:

  • Get input from your team. When you involve your team in setting goals, they're more likely to be committed to achieving them (that includes us!).
  • Be flexible. Things don't always go according to plan, so be prepared to adjust your goals as needed.
  • Celebrate your successes. When you achieve a goal, take some time to celebrate your success. This will help you stay motivated and keep moving forward.
